ASPEN ACERS FIRE UPDATE - FREMONT COUNTY

The Aspen Acres Fire has exploded to 91,523 acres, making it the seventh-largest wildfire in Colorado history. After a significant run driven by gusty, erratic thunderstorm winds, containment slightly dropped from 14% to 12%. The fire is currently the No. 1 firefighting priority in the United States, with 1,374 personnel assigned. At least 212 structures have been destroyed across Pueblo and Custer counties, though no civilian deaths have been reported.

Critical weather conditions remain a major challenge. A community meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Centennial High School in Pueblo. It will also stream on the official Aspen Acres Fire Facebook page.
